उपतिष्ठेन्न वे तेषां पुत्रैर्दत्तमनेकधा / हन्तकारस्तदुद्देशे श्राद्धं नैव जलाञ्जलिः

upatiṣṭhenna ve teṣāṃ putrairdattamanekadhā / hantakārastaduddeśe śrāddhaṃ naiva jalāñjaliḥ

Sesungguhnya, persembahan yang diberikan oleh anak-anak lelaki dengan pelbagai cara tidak sampai kepada mereka jika si mati itu seorang pembunuh; bagi orang demikian, tiada śrāddha yang dilakukan atas namanya—bahkan curahan air jalāñjali sekalipun—menjadi berkesan.
