This verse presents Rudraloka as a high post-death realm where one may reside for a long duration due to merit, indicating an exalted intermediate attainment before further blessings.
It implies that strong spiritual merit enables one to ‘overcome’ the jurisdiction of Yama—escaping punitive or restrictive after-death experiences—and proceed toward heavenly attainment.
Live dharmically and cultivate merit through ethical conduct, devotion, and prescribed rites so the post-death journey trends toward auspicious realms rather than Yama’s punishments.
