FAQs

This verse presents tiryaktva as a karmic consequence for sin: after undergoing prior states of suffering, the soul may be compelled into subhuman embodiments, emphasizing ethical restraint and purification.

It indicates a sequence—after passing through various post-death experiences, the sinner’s next embodiment can descend into lower yonis (worms, insects, birds, plants, and single-hoofed animals), showing rebirth as a continuation of karma’s results.

Treat actions as long-term causes: reduce harm, deceit, and exploitation, and pursue repentance and dharmic conduct to avoid karmic decline into painful or limited forms of life.
