Lord Vishnu (teaching Garuda/Vinata-putra)

Concept: Vāsudeva-anucintana purifies even a blemished mind; with purified intellect and fortitude, one should restrain the self.

Vedantic Theme: Bhakti as citta-śuddhi leading to steadiness (dhṛti) and self-mastery; convergence of bhakti and yoga (niyama).

Application: Establish daily remembrance (japa, nāma-smaraṇa, mantra) of Vāsudeva; pair it with practical self-regulation—sleep, speech, habits—so devotion becomes transformative.

Primary Rasa: shanta

Secondary Rasa: adbhuta

FAQs

This verse states that continuous contemplation of Vāsudeva purifies even those stained by deviations in conduct, making the intellect clear and fit for self-discipline.

It links karmic lapse (karma-vibhraṣṭa) with mental impurity (kāluṣya) and presents bhakti—steady remembrance of Vāsudeva—along with firm self-control as the corrective path.

Maintain regular remembrance or japa of Vishnu’s name, cultivate a clear, ethical intellect, and practice restraint of impulses—so past mistakes do not harden into further harmful karma.
