शत्रुघ्न इति विख्यातः शत्रून्सूदयते यतः / अनिरुद्धः कृष्णपुत्रो प्रद्युम्नाद्यो ऽजनिष्ट ह

Baginda masyhur dengan nama “Śatrughna” kerana Baginda membinasakan musuh-musuh. Dan Aniruddha—putera Kṛṣṇa—sesungguhnya lahir sebagai yang terunggul antara Pradyumna dan yang lain-lain.
