Kāraṇa-vyākhyā: Cosmic Agents, Rudra-Forms, Sense-Purity, and Ānanda-Tāratamya
पादारविन्दं तव विश्वमूर्ते योगीश्वरैर्हृदये संगृहीतम् / दृष्टं मया दयया वासुदेव द्रक्ष्ये कथं पुनरित्थं रुरोद
pādāravindaṃ tava viśvamūrte yogīśvarairhṛdaye saṃgṛhītam / dṛṣṭaṃ mayā dayayā vāsudeva drakṣye kathaṃ punaritthaṃ ruroda
Wahai Yang Berwujud Semesta! Kaki teratai-Mu disimpan dalam hati para yogi agung. Dengan belas kasihan-Mu, wahai Vāsudeva, aku telah menyaksikannya—bagaimanakah aku dapat melihat sesuatu yang lain lagi? Demikianlah dia menangis sedemikian rupa.
Garuda (Vinata-putra), addressing Lord Vishnu (Vasudeva)
Concept: Darśana of the Lord’s lotus-feet, held in the heart by yogins, arises by divine compassion and eclipses all other desires.
Vedantic Theme: Antaryāmin and bhakti-yoga culminating in single-pointed absorption (ekāgratā) where the highest object alone remains desirable.
Application: Practice nāma-smaraṇa and heart-centered dhyāna on the Lord’s pādāravinda; cultivate gratitude for grace rather than entitlement to visions.
Primary Rasa: karuna
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
Related Themes: Garuda Purana 3.18.52-55 (continued cosmic-vision and chest-description; repeated weeping for darśana)
This verse presents Vishnu’s lotus-feet as the highest object of contemplation—cherished in the hearts of the greatest yogins—implying that such remembrance anchors the mind in liberation-oriented devotion.
By emphasizing compassionate darśana of Vāsudeva and single-pointed remembrance, it points to bhakti-yoga as a liberating orientation of consciousness, contrasting worldly re-seeing with sustained spiritual vision.
Adopt a daily practice of remembrance—japa, prayer, or focused meditation on Vishnu—so the mind repeatedly returns to a sacred center rather than being pulled by transient sights and anxieties.
