Śrī Kṛṣṇa (as the instructing divine voice in the Purāṇic dialogue)

Concept: Apparent contradictions dissolve when seen with right knowledge; doubt is a symptom of avidyā.

Vedantic Theme: Avidyā → saṃśaya; vidyā → niścaya. Unity of truth despite varied expressions (bheda in upadeśa, abheda in tattva).

Application: When teachings seem to conflict, examine context and intent; cultivate disciplined study and contemplation to move from doubt to stable understanding.

Primary Rasa: shanta

Secondary Rasa: adbhuta

Related Themes: Garuda Purana doctrinal reconciliations where multiple cosmological counts are harmonized by intent (abhiprāya).

FAQs

This verse states that Brahmā’s teaching and Kṛṣṇa’s teaching are non-contradictory, implying that apparent conflicts arise from misunderstanding rather than from the śāstra itself.

It locates doubt in ajñāna (ignorant vision) and asserts that jñānins, grounded in true understanding, do not remain troubled by uncertainty about doctrine.

When teachings seem to conflict, study context and meaning carefully, seek qualified guidance, and cultivate clarity through disciplined learning and reflection rather than reacting with skepticism.
