अन्तर्जानुः शुचौ देश उपविष्ट उदङ्मुखः / प्राग्वा ब्राह्मेण तीर्थेन द्विजो नित्यमुपस्पृशेत्

antarjānuḥ śucau deśa upaviṣṭa udaṅmukhaḥ / prāgvā brāhmeṇa tīrthena dvijo nityamupaspṛśet

Seorang dwija (dua kali lahir) hendaklah setiap hari melakukan ācāmana, duduk di tempat yang suci dan bersih, dengan lutut dirapatkan, menghadap ke utara—atau ke timur—seraya mengambil air menurut Brahma-tīrtha, iaitu posisi tangan yang ditetapkan bagi upacara Brahmanik.
