This verse frames the Garuḍa-teaching as spiritually beneficial to hear and transmit, indicating that listening itself is considered a merit-bearing act in the Purāṇic tradition.
Indirectly: it sets the narrative authority for the subsequent instruction. By establishing that Brahmā endorsed the teaching after hearing it, the text signals that the coming guidance on dharma and post-death matters is to be trusted.
Approach Garuḍa Purāṇa study as a disciplined listening/reading practice (śravaṇa), treating it as a merit-building act and a foundation for ethical living and informed ritual conduct.
