Acyuta/Vāsudeva Stotra: Avatāra-Salutations, Ritual Totality, Forgiveness Prayer, and Phalaśruti

Lord Vishnu (speaking to Garuda/Vinata-putra)

Concept: Satya-śīla, śauca, dāna, and stuti of Puruṣottama as marks of the dhārmika devotee; rejection of such virtue/devotion renders one socially and spiritually avoidable.

Vedantic Theme: Bhakti integrated with sattva-guṇa ethics; devotion as purifier of vāk and antaḥkaraṇa; dharma as supportive limb of bhakti.

Application: Practice truthful speech, cleanliness, and generosity; include daily praise/recitation of Viṣṇu; set boundaries with persistently unethical influences.

Primary Rasa: vira

Secondary Rasa: raudra

Related Themes: Garuda Purana: recurring linkage of śauca-dāna-satya with Viṣṇu-bhakti as purifying and merit-producing (thematic)

FAQs

This verse presents praise (stuti) of Puruṣottama as inseparable from core virtues—truthfulness, purity, and charity—marking it as a defining sign of dharmic life.

By linking devotion and ethical discipline, it implies that a soul aligned with satya, śauca, and dāna—and devoted to Vishnu—follows a dharmic trajectory, whereas those excluded from dharma fall away from auspicious conduct and association.

Practice truthful speech, maintain cleanliness of habits and intent, give regularly, and include daily remembrance or praise of Vishnu—while avoiding harmful company that undermines dharma.
