Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: shanta
Type: ritual arena (yajña-śālā) implied
Related Themes: Garuda Purana (general): Viṣṇu as all-pervading reality; praise sections identifying the Lord with cosmic functions
This verse teaches that the Supreme (Puruṣottama) pervades every limb of sacrifice—priest, patron, offering, and rite—so ritual becomes complete when dedicated to Him rather than treated as a merely mechanical act.
Garuda Purana often links post-death welfare to dharma and prescribed rites; this verse frames all such rites as ultimately centered in Vishnu, implying that the highest efficacy of rituals (including śrāddha and offerings) depends on devotion and right intention toward the Supreme.
Whether performing a formal rite or daily worship, treat the act, the offering, and the result as dedicated to God—cultivating humility, ethical living, and sincerity rather than ritual pride.
