śvetāparājitāmūlaṃ haridrāsikthataṇḍulāḥ / apāmārgatrikaṭukameṣāñca vaṭikā śiva / viṣūcikāmahāvyādhiṃ haratyeva na saṃśayaḥ
Wahai Śiva, sebiji pil (vaṭikā) yang dibuat daripada akar aparājitā putih, kunyit, gula batu, beras, apāmārga, serta trikaṭu (tiga bahan pedas) pasti memusnahkan penyakit berat seperti viṣūcikā (seakan kolera); tiada keraguan tentangnya.
Lord Vishnu (in instruction to Garuda/Vinata-putra, within a medicinal/ritual-utility passage)
Dosha: Mixed
Concept: Preservation of life through right medicine is a dharmic act; confidence in properly compounded remedies.
Vedantic Theme: Sharira as sadhana—maintaining the body as an instrument for dharma and bhakti.
Application: Prepare the specified vaṭikā with correct ingredients and proportions; use as emergency support for severe viṣūcikā-like illness under competent guidance.
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
Related Themes: Garuda Purana 1.185 (Ayurveda/cikitsa section continuing)
This verse shows the text also preserves practical, dharmic household knowledge—such as preparing a vaṭikā (pill) from specific herbs—to counter severe diseases like viṣūcikā.
It does not describe the soul’s journey directly; instead, it supports embodied well-being by prescribing a remedy, implying that maintaining health is part of sustaining dharma and life’s duties.
Use it as a historical reference to traditional formulations (not as medical advice); consult a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner or physician before using any herbal combination for acute illness.
