This verse shows that the Garuda Purana also preserves practical guidance—such as simple herbal preparations—supporting bodily health and cleanliness, which are valued alongside dharma and ritual observance.
By prescribing a remedy for conditions like diarrhoea and wasting, the text implicitly supports maintaining physical steadiness and purity—important for sustaining daily duties and performing rites without impurity or disruption.
It highlights a traditional preparation (banyan sprout with rice-water) as a culturally rooted remedy; in modern use, treat it as heritage knowledge and consult a qualified practitioner before applying it medically.
