Anupāna and the Doṣa-Effects of Foods, Waters, Dairy, Oils, and Preparations

रक्तपित्तज्वरोन्माथो शीतो ग्राही मकुष्ठकः / पुंस्त्वासृक्कफपित्तघ्नश्चणको वातलः स्मृतः

raktapittajvaronmātho śīto grāhī makuṣṭhakaḥ / puṃstvāsṛkkaphapittaghnaścaṇako vātalaḥ smṛtaḥ

Makuṣṭhaka bersifat menyejukkan dan mengikat; ia meredakan raktapitta (pendarahan kerana pitta), demam dan kegelisahan seperti pening. Caṇaka (kacang kuda) dikatakan menguatkan kejantanan serta menenangkan gangguan darah, kapha dan pitta, namun dianggap meningkatkan vāta.
