Sarpis (ghee) bersifat manis dan vṛṣya—menyuburkan tenaga; ia mengurangkan vāta, pitta dan kapha. Ghee daripada lembu (gāvya) ialah medhya—mensucikan, baik untuk mata; dan apabila disediakan dengan sempurna, ia menakluk tiga doṣa.
