Primary Rasa: karuna
Secondary Rasa: shanta
Type: bodily locus (head-bearing axis; speech organ)
Related Themes: Garuda Purana 1.166.27 (behavioral triggers); Garuda Purana 1.166.28-29 (jaw/tongue stiffness mechanisms)
This verse treats vāta as a physiological force whose aggravation directly affects speech, eating, and bodily function, linking conduct (overexertion and excess laughter/talk) to disease.
It does not describe the after-death journey directly; instead it gives a dharmic-health teaching: bodily discipline reduces suffering, which the Purana often connects with karmic outcomes and well-being.
Avoid overstraining the head/neck (heavy loads), moderate loud talking and excessive laughter, and follow vāta-pacifying habits to prevent speech and swallowing issues.
