Ātman hadir dalam keadaan jaga dan dalam mimpi (tidur). Dia juga ialah Mahā-Ātman, dan demikian pula Yang Tertinggi. Dia ialah Paramātman bagi Pradhāna (Alam Asal), dan Dia ialah Ātman bagi ruang; demikian juga Dia ialah Ātman yang bersemayam dalam air.
