Jvara-Nidāna-Lakṣaṇa: Causes, Doṣic Types, Āma/Nirāma Stages, and Prognosis of Fever
Lord Vishnu (in dialogue with Garuda/Vinatā-putra)
Concept: Embodied life is contingent from conception onward; stages of development (or pathological stages) have ordered progression with varying difficulty; reversal implies alternate sequence of five stages.
Vedantic Theme: Prārabdha-karma shaping embodiment; the jīva’s entry into a body is conditioned and fragile, pointing to the desirability of mokṣa beyond birth-death cycles.
Application: In prenatal/early-life care, recognize vulnerability and the need for protection and proper regimen; in doctrinal study, understand staged causality and progression.
Primary Rasa: bhayanaka
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
Type: body-space

The verse marks śukra as the immediate physical basis in which embodiment begins; once the being takes shelter there, the condition of mortality (being subject to death) also begins.
It links the soul’s embodied trajectory to conception: with entry into the generative process, the jīva becomes bound to a body and therefore to the inevitability of death, implying rebirth and karmic continuity.
It encourages reverence for life’s origins and responsible conduct (dharma) regarding sexuality, family duties, and karmic choices—since embodiment immediately implies future suffering, aging, and death.
