FAQs

The verse highlights dharma: honoring the deceased through proper rites is treated as a sacred duty, even when the departed is not a human relative.

It does not directly describe the soul’s post-death journey; it focuses on the ethical act of completing funerary rites, which traditionally supports the departed’s peaceful transition.

Fulfill last rites and memorial duties conscientiously, and uphold gratitude and responsibility toward those who helped you—dharma before personal goals.
