FAQs

This verse includes Ekādaśī among recognized religious observances (vratas), indicating it as a sanctioned day for disciplined practice aimed at gaining merit (puṇya) and purification.

Indirectly: by listing vratas, it points to dharmic disciplines that generate puṇya, which Garuda Purana repeatedly connects with improved post-death outcomes and relief from adverse conditions.

Observe a chosen vrata (such as Ekādaśī) with sincerity—restraint, prayer, charity, and ethical conduct—treating it as a structured practice for self-purification.
