ब्रह्मचर्यं दया क्षान्तिर्ध्यानं सत्यमकल्कता / अहिंसा स्तेयमाधुर्ये दमश्चैते यमाः स्मृताः

brahmacaryaṃ dayā kṣāntirdhyānaṃ satyamakalkatā / ahiṃsā steyamādhurye damaścaite yamāḥ smṛtāḥ

Brahmacarya (pengekangan suci), belas kasih, kesabaran, meditasi, kebenaran, kemurnian tanpa cela, ahimsa, tidak mencuri, kelembutan tutur kata dan tingkah laku, serta pengendalian indera—semuanya diingati sebagai yama (pantangan etika).
