तस्मात्सर्गादयो जाताः संपूज्याश्च व्रतादिना / पुराणं गारुडं व्यासः पुरासौ मे ऽब्रवीदिदम्
tasmātsargādayo jātāḥ saṃpūjyāśca vratādinā / purāṇaṃ gāruḍaṃ vyāsaḥ purāsau me 'bravīdidam
Maka daripada sumber asal itu, tercetuslah penciptaan dan segala yang menyusul; dan semuanya wajar dihormati dengan sempurna melalui vrata (nazar suci) serta amalan yang seiring. Purāṇa Garuḍa ini dahulu telah dituturkan kepadaku oleh resi Vyāsa.
