śrī-śuka uvāca nābhir apatya-kāmo ’prajayā merudevyā bhagavantaṁ yajña-puruṣam avahitātmāyajata.

Śrī Śukadeva berkata: Kerana menginginkan zuriat, Mahārāja Nābhi, bersama permaisurinya Merudevī yang ketika itu belum beranak, dengan hati yang khusyuk memuja Bhagavān Viṣṇu, Sang Yajña-puruṣa.
