सुनीथ: सत्यजिदथ विश्वजिद् यद् रिपुञ्जय: । बार्हद्रथाश्च भूपाला भाव्या: साहस्रवत्सरम् ॥ ४९ ॥
sunīthaḥ satyajid atha viśvajid yad ripuñjayaḥ bārhadrathāś ca bhūpālā bhāvyāḥ sāhasra-vatsaram
Daripada Subala akan lahir Sunītha; daripada Sunītha lahir Satyajit; daripada Satyajit lahir Viśvajit; dan daripada Viśvajit lahir Ripuñjaya. Kesemuanya ialah raja-raja daripada dinasti Bṛhadratha yang akan memerintah dunia selama seribu tahun.
This is the history of a monarchy that began with Jarāsandha and continues for one thousand years as the above-mentioned kings appear on the surface of the globe.
They are successive kings mentioned by Śukadeva Gosvāmī while narrating the royal lineage within the Puru dynasty in Canto 9, Chapter 22.
This verse states that the Bārhadratha rulers (descendants associated with Bṛhadratha) will reign as kings for a period described as one thousand years.
It helps devotees see the flow of time, the rise and fall of worldly power, and strengthens detachment—encouraging one to seek lasting shelter in bhakti rather than temporary prestige.
