Śukadeva expands the glorification of the Yadus by emphasizing their immeasurable multitude and fame. The point is not mere population, but the abundance of “vikhyāta-karma”—persons renowned for noble deeds, heroism, leadership, and devotion. In the Bhāgavata narrative, Kṛṣṇa’s earthly pastimes draw countless exalted associates into His orbit, and the Yadu dynasty becomes a principal stage for dharma, politics, devotion, and divine līlā. The hyperbolic measure—‘even with thousands of years’—is a classical Purāṇic way of expressing the dynasty’s vastness and the impossibility of fully enumerating the Lord’s arrangements. For the reader, the verse inspires śraddhā (faith): Kṛṣṇa’s presence elevates entire communities, producing generations of distinguished character. It also serves an archival function in the text—acknowledging that only a selection of names and events can be narrated, while the full glory remains beyond complete documentation.
