Balarāma Humbles the Kurus and Rescues Sāmba
अद्य निष्कौरवं पृथ्वीं करिष्यामीत्यमर्षित: । गृहीत्वा हलमुत्तस्थौ दहन्निव जगत्त्रयम् ॥ ४० ॥
adya niṣkauravāṁ pṛthvīṁ kariṣyāmīty amarṣitaḥ gṛhītvā halam uttasthau dahann iva jagat-trayam
Dengan murka, Balarāma mengisytiharkan, “Hari ini akan aku jadikan bumi bebas daripada kaum Kaurava!” Lalu Baginda menggenggam senjata bajaknya dan bangkit seolah-olah hendak membakar tiga alam.
