The Slaying of Narakāsura (Bhaumāsura), Rescue of the Princesses, and the Pārijāta Episode Begins
इत्थं रमापतिमवाप्य पतिं स्त्रियस्ता ब्रह्मादयोऽपि न विदु: पदवीं यदीयाम् । भेजुर्मुदाविरतमेधितयानुराग- हासावलोकनवसङ्गमजल्पलज्जा: ॥ ४४ ॥
itthaṁ ramā-patim avāpya patiṁ striyas tā brahmādayo ’pi na viduḥ padavīṁ yadīyām bhejur mudāviratam edhitayānurāga hāsāvaloka-nava-saṅgama-jalpa-lajjāḥ
Demikianlah para wanita itu memperoleh Lakṣmī-pati sebagai suami—yang bahkan Brahmā dan para dewa agung pun tidak mengetahui jalan mendekati-Nya. Dengan sukacita yang kian bertambah, cinta mereka memuncak; mereka bertukar pandang sambil tersenyum, menikmati keakraban yang sentiasa segar, disertai gurau senda, bicara manis dan malu yang halus.
