The Murder of Satrājit and the Recovery of the Syamantaka Jewel
Śrīla Śrīdhara Svāmī explains that the word helanam indicates acting against the Lords’ will, and that vṛjinam indicates an offense against the Lords.
This verse states that one should never disrespect Rāma and Kṛṣṇa, and that welfare and safety cannot come to someone who acts wrongly toward Them.
In the Syamantaka jewel episode, Satrājit recognizes that treating Rāma and Kṛṣṇa with contempt would be disastrous, so he declares he will not commit such an offense.
Practice humility toward devotees and sacred teachings, avoid careless criticism, and choose actions that honor God—because lasting peace comes from reverence, not hostility.
