The Syamantaka Jewel: Accusation, Recovery, and Kṛṣṇa’s Marriage to Satyabhāmā
त्वं हि विश्वसृजां स्रष्टा सृष्टानामपि यच्च सत् । काल: कलयतामीश: पर आत्मा तथात्मनाम् ॥ २७ ॥
tvaṁ hi viśva-sṛjām sraṣṭā sṛṣṭānām api yac ca sat kālaḥ kalayatām īśaḥ para ātmā tathātmanām
Engkaulah Pencipta tertinggi bahkan bagi para pencipta alam, dan Engkaulah hakikat asas yang menjadi sandaran segala yang dicipta. Engkaulah Kala yang menundukkan para penunduk, Tuhan Yang Maha Tinggi dan Paramatma bagi semua jiwa.
As Lord Kapila states in the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam (3.25.42) : mṛtyuś carati mad-bhayāt. “Death himself moves about out of fear of Me.”
This verse identifies Kṛṣṇa as the para ātmā (Paramātmā), the supreme Self present within the hearts of all living beings, governing and sustaining them from within.
After encountering Kṛṣṇa during the events surrounding the Syamantaka jewel, Jāmbavān recognizes Kṛṣṇa’s supreme divinity and offers praise, affirming Him as the source of creation, Time, and the indwelling Lord.
Remembering the Lord as Kāla helps one value time, act with dharma and discipline, reduce procrastination, and cultivate steady devotion by seeing every moment as governed by the Supreme.
