The Vraja Elders Question Kṛṣṇa’s Identity; Nanda Recounts Garga’s Prophecy
आशीविषतमाहीन्द्रं दमित्वा विमदं ह्रदात् । प्रसह्योद्वास्य यमुनां चक्रेऽसौ निर्विषोदकाम् ॥ १२ ॥
āśī-viṣatamāhīndraṁ damitvā vimadaṁ hradāt prasahyodvāsya yamunāṁ cakre ’sau nirviṣodakām
Śrī Kṛṣṇa menundukkan ular paling berbisa, Kāliya, mematahkan keangkuhannya lalu menghalaunya dengan paksa dari tasik Yamunā. Dengan itu Tuhan menjadikan air Yamunā bebas daripada racun.

This verse states that Kṛṣṇa subdued the extremely venomous serpent Kāliya, expelled him from the lake, and thereby made the Yamunā’s waters free from poison.
Because Kāliya’s poison had contaminated the Yamunā and endangered all life; Kṛṣṇa humbled him and removed him to protect Vraja and restore the river’s purity.
It teaches that divine grace and steadfast courage can remove “poison”—harmful influences like pride, cruelty, and pollution—so life-giving sources become pure and beneficial again.
