श्रीभगवानुवाच । मया प्रसन्नेन तवार्जुनेदं रूपं परं दर्शितमात्मयोगात् । तेजोमयं विश्वमनन्तमाद्यं यन्मे त्वदन्येन न दृष्टपूर्वम् ॥ ११.४७ ॥
śrībhagavān uvāca | mayā prasannena tavārjunedaṁ rūpaṁ paraṁ darśitam ātmayogāt | tejomayaṁ viśvam anantam ādyaṁ yan me tvadanyena na dṛṣṭapūrvam || 11.47 ||
Sri Bhagavan berfirman: Wahai Arjuna, kerana Aku berkenan kepadamu, dengan kuasa Yoga-Ku sendiri (atma-yoga) Aku telah memperlihatkan kepadamu rupa tertinggi ini—bercahaya, meliputi seluruh alam, tidak berhingga, yang awal—yang tidak pernah dilihat oleh sesiapa pun selain engkau.
The Blessed Lord said: Being gracious to you, O Arjuna, I have shown you, by My own Yoga-power, this supreme form—radiant, universal, infinite, primal—which none other than you has seen before.
The Lord said: I, being favorably disposed, have shown you this highest form through (my) self-yoga: a radiant, all-encompassing, endless, primordial (form) of mine, not previously seen by anyone other than you.
Most traditional renderings emphasize divine grace (prasanna) and the uniqueness of Arjuna’s vision; academic-literal translations foreground the instrumental phrasing ‘through ātmayoga’ and the descriptive predicates (tejomaya, viśva, ananta, ādya).
The verse frames extraordinary experience as contingent on a stabilizing benevolence (‘prasanna’), suggesting that transformative insight is not merely self-produced but also requires an attitude of receptivity and trust.
The universal form is presented as ‘primordial’ and ‘infinite,’ implying a theistic metaphysics where the many are grounded in a single, all-inclusive reality identified with Īśvara.
After Arjuna’s vision of the cosmic form, Krishna clarifies that the revelation occurred through divine agency (‘ātmayoga’) and is exceptional in human experience.
It can be read as a reminder that profound perspective shifts often arise when humility, ethical intention, and openness align—rather than through effort alone.
