ब्राह्मण्युवाच । नाहं पतिं प्रयास्यामि कुमारी ब्रह्मचारिणी । देया प्रिया सखी यत्र तावद्यास्यामि तत्र च
brāhmaṇyuvāca | nāhaṃ patiṃ prayāsyāmi kumārī brahmacāriṇī | deyā priyā sakhī yatra tāvadyāsyāmi tatra ca
ब्राह्मणकन्या म्हणाली—मी कुमारी ब्रह्मचारिणी आहे; मी पतीकडे जाणार नाही। जिथे माझी प्रिय सखी, जी विवाहात द्यायची आहे, असेल तिथेच मी जाऊन तिच्याबरोबर राहीन।
