या दशकात अग्नीला ‘यज्ञसम्राट’ म्हणून गौरवून, तो यज्ञाचा अधिपती होऊन हवी देवांकडे वाहून नेवो अशी प्रार्थना आहे. अश्विनांना वेगाने येऊन हितकारी सहाय्यक व धन-शोधक म्हणून उपकार करावेत असे आवाहन केले आहे. सोमरसाने हर्षित झालेला इंद्र अधिक सामर्थ्यवान होऊन ‘सम्’—समग्रतेने—महाधन, वसु, गो-संपदा इत्यादी विपुल समृद्धी मुक्त करावी अशी याचना आहे. ‘आवाहन → सान्निध्य → शक्तिवर्धन → दान’ या यज्ञतत्त्वानुसार योग्य स्तुती व अर्पणातून दैवी सार्वभौमत्व स्थिर होऊन सुव्यवस्थित बल व समृद्धी प्राप्त होते.

अस्तावि मन्म पूर्व्यं ब्रह्मेन्द्राय वोचत पूर्वीरृतस्य बृहतीरनूषत स्तोतुर्मेधा असृक्षत
प्राचीन स्तुती गायिली गेली; इंद्रासाठी पवित्र ब्रह्म-वचन उच्चारा। ऋताची अनेक महान स्तुती ध्वनित झाली; स्तोताच्या मेधा-प्रेरणा प्रवाहित होऊन बाहेर पडल्या।

समिन्द्रो रायो बृहतीरधूनुत सं क्षोणी समु सूर्यम् सं शुक्रासः शुचयः सं गवाशिरः सोमा इन्द्रममन्दिषुः
इंद्राने महान रयि (समृद्धी) पूर्णपणे झटकून प्रकट केली; त्याने पृथ्वी(समूह) आणि सूर्य यांनाही सुयोग्य रीतीने क्रमबद्ध केले. तेजस्वी, शुचि शक्ती आणि प्रधान रूपाने गो-धन (त्याने दिले); सोम-रसांनी इंद्राला आनंदित व उत्साहित केले।

स नो दूराच्चासाच्च नि मर्त्यादघायोः पाहि सदमिद्विश्वायुः
हे (देवा), दूरूनही आणि जवळूनही—आम्हाला इजा करू पाहणाऱ्या त्या मर्त्यापासून, त्या अनघापासून—आमचे रक्षण कर; आणि सदैव आमच्यासाठी ‘विश्वायु’ (संपूर्ण जीवनशक्ती देणारा) होऊन राहा.
