पश्चिमदिशि अन्वेषणादेशः

Instructions for the Western Search Party

मरीचिपुत्रं मारीचमर्चिष्मन्तं महाकपिम्।वृतं कपिवरै श्शूरैर्महेन्द्रसदृशद्युतिम्।।4.42.3।।बुद्धिविक्रमसम्पन्नं वैनतेयसमद्युतिम्।मरीचिपुत्रान्मारीचानर्चिर्मालान्महाबलान्।।4.42.4।।ऋषिपुत्रांश्चतांत्सर्वान्प्रतीचीमादिशद्दिशम्।

marīciputraṃ mārīcam arciṣmantaṃ mahākapim |

vṛtaṃ kapivaraiḥ śśūraiḥ mahendrasadṛśadyutim || 4.42.3 ||

buddhivikramasampannaṃ vainateyasamadyutim |

marīciputrān mārīcān arcirmālān mahābalān || 4.42.4 ||

सुग्रीवाने मरीचिपुत्र अर्चिष्मान नावाच्या महाकपीला संबोधिले—तो शूर कपिश्रेष्ठांनी वेढलेला व महेन्द्रासारखा तेजस्वी होता। तसेच त्याने मरीचिपुत्र मारीच—अर्चिर्माला म्हणून प्रसिद्ध, बुद्धी व पराक्रमाने संपन्न आणि वैनतेय (गरुड) समान दीप्तिमान अशा महाबलवानांनाही आज्ञा दिली।

Sugriva spoke to the great lustrous monkey Archisman, son of the eminent sage Marichi who possessed the wisdom and prowess of Indra and was comparable to Vaineteya (Garuda) in lustre. He also spoke to the other sons of Maricha, called Marichas, who were very strong and known as Archismalas (garlands of continuous glow) and asked all of them to proceed in the western direction.
