अग्नीषोमयमानां तु कार्यमाप्यायनं बुधः अग्न्यभावे ऽपि विप्रस्य प्राणाव् अपि जले ऽथवा //

अग्नीषोम यागात प्रवृत्तांसाठी ज्ञानी ‘आप्यायन’ कर्म सांगतात। अग्नीचा अभाव असला तरी ब्राह्मणाने ते जलाने करू शकते—जणू जलच प्राणधारणाचा पर्याय आहे।
