सत्यं जपस्तपो दानं पूर्वधर्मो य उच्यते यदा धर्मस्य ह्रसते शाखाधर्मस्य वर्धते //

Transliteration

satyaṃ japastapo dānaṃ pūrvadharmo ya ucyate yadā dharmasya hrasate śākhādharmasya vardhate //

Translation

सत्य, जप, तप आणि दान—यालाच प्राचीन मूलधर्म म्हटले आहे. जेव्हा तो धर्म क्षीण होतो, तेव्हा शाखाधर्म म्हणजे संप्रदायभेद वाढू लागतात.
