वेणा भीमरथी चैव नद्यौ पापभयापहे । मृगद्धिजसमाकीर्णे तापसालयभूषिते,वेणा और भीमरथी--ये दो नदियाँ भी दक्षिणमें ही हैं जो समस्त पापभयका नाश करनेवाली हैं। उसके दोनों तट अनेक प्रकारके पशु-पक्षियोंसे व्याप्त और तपस्वीजनोंके आश्रमोंसे विभूषित हैं
veṇā bhīmarathī caiva nadyau pāpabhayāpahe | mṛgadviijasamākīrṇe tāpasālayabhūṣite ||
धौम्य म्हणाले—दक्षिण प्रदेशात वेणा आणि भीमरथी या दोन नद्या आहेत; त्या पापातून उत्पन्न होणारा भय नष्ट करतात। त्यांच्या तीरांवर नानाविध पशु-पक्ष्यांची गर्दी असते आणि तपस्वींच्या आश्रमांनी ते अलंकृत असतात—जे शुद्धी, संयम व आध्यात्मिक शांतता वाढवितात।
