घुलस्त्य उवाच
The verse teaches that tīrtha-bathing is a dharmic act whose merit is not merely personal: it can lead to a blessed posthumous state (attaining Agni’s realm) and is believed to ‘uplift’ or benefit one’s lineage, emphasizing responsibility toward family and ancestors.
A speaker is guiding the listener through a sequence of sacred sites in a tīrtha-yātrā context, recommending that the next destination is Agnitīrtha and stating the spiritual fruits obtained by bathing there.
