बृहृदश्चव उवाच
As a colophon, the verse primarily teaches textual discipline: it formally closes a chapter and preserves the structure of transmission—reminding the reader that the narrative is carefully framed, attributed, and segmented, which supports faithful remembrance and ethical reflection on the story’s lessons.
This line is not a plot event but an editorial/narrative marker: it announces that the seventy-fifth chapter of the Nalopākhyāna within the Vana Parva has concluded, under the theme of the meeting/recognition involving a maiden and a son, as narrated by Bṛhadaśva.
