ऋतुपर्णस्य विदर्भयात्रा-निश्चयः तथा बाहुकस्य हयपरिक्षा (Ṛtuparṇa’s resolve to go to Vidarbha and Bāhuka’s examination of horses)
ते वयं दमयन्त्यर्थे चराम: पृथिवीमिमाम् । सेयमासादिता बाला तव पुत्रनिवेशने,हम अनेक ब्राह्मण दमयन्तीको ढूँढ़नेके लिये इस पृथ्वीपर विचर रहे हैं। आज आपके पुत्रके महलमें मुझे यह राजकुमारी मिली है
te vayaṃ damayantyarthe carāmaḥ pṛthivīm imām | seyam āsāditā bālā tava putraniveśane ||
आम्ही अनेक ब्राह्मण दमयंतीच्या शोधार्थ या पृथ्वीवर फिरत आहोत. आज तुमच्या पुत्राच्या निवासस्थानी मला ही तरुणी राजकन्या मिळाली आहे.
