Karna–Indra Exchange of Kavaca-Kuṇḍala for the Vāsavī-Śakti
ebhiḥ sahāyaiḥ kasmāt tvaṃ viṣīdasi paraṃtapa | ya ime vajriṇaḥ senāṃ jayeyuḥ samarudgaṇām, paraṃtapa ||
Do not yield to despair when supported by capable allies; courage and steadiness are part of a warrior’s dharma, and confidence is strengthened by remembering the proven power of one’s companions.
Mārkaṇḍeya addresses a despondent hero (called ‘paraṃtapa’) and reassures him by praising the might of his brothers/allies, saying they could even overcome Indra’s thunderbolt-bearing forces along with the Maruts.
