Sāvitrī’s Dialogue with Yama and the Restoration of Satyavān
अभिगच्छाव सुग्रीवं शैलस्थं हरिपुड्रवम् । मयि शिष्ये च भृत्ये च सहाये च समाश्वस,“हम दोनों यहाँसे वानरराज सुग्रीवके पास चलें, जो ऋष्यमूक पर्वतके शिखरपर रहते हैं। मैं आपका शिष्य, सेवक और सहायक हूँ। मेरे रहते आपको धैर्य रखना चाहिये”
abhigacchāva sugrīvaṁ śailasthaṁ haripuṅgavam | mayi śiṣye ca bhṛtye ca sahāye ca samāśvasa ||
मार्कंडेय म्हणाले— चला, आपण दोघे शैलशिखरावर राहणाऱ्या वानरश्रेष्ठ सुग्रीवाकडे जाऊ. माझ्यात शिष्य, सेवक आणि सहायक—हे तिन्ही आहेत असे जाणून धीर धर.
मार्कण्डेय उवाच
The verse teaches steadiness and reassurance in adversity: one should seek the right alliance and proceed with confidence when supported by a loyal, duty-bound companion who offers service, guidance, and practical help.
Mārkaṇḍeya urges moving toward Sugrīva, the monkey leader living on a mountain peak (Ṛṣyamūka), and consoles the listener by pledging himself as disciple, servant, and ally—encouraging courage and composure during the next step of the journey.
