तैर्विसृष्टान्यनीकेषु क्रुद्धैः शस्त्राणि संयुगे
tair visṛṣṭāny anīkeṣu kruddhaiḥ śastrāṇi saṃyuge
रणांगणात क्रुद्ध योद्ध्यांनी सोडलेली शस्त्रे शत्रुसैन्याच्या पंक्तींमध्ये जाऊन आदळली.
मार्कण्डेय उवाच
The line highlights how anger (krodha) drives action in war: when wrath dominates, weapons are unleashed without hesitation. Ethically, it points to the Mahabharata’s recurring concern that even in kṣatriya-duty, inner restraint and discernment are crucial, because uncontrolled rage escalates destruction.
Markandeya is describing a battle scene: enraged fighters release weapons into the opposing formations. The focus is on the intensity of combat—missiles and arms being hurled into the ranks during the clash.
