Indra’s Meeting with the Pāṇḍavas
एष शापो मया प्राप्त: प्राक् तस्मादृषिसत्तमात् | स भीमेन महाराज क्षात्रा तव विमोक्षित:,महाराज युधिष्ठिर! पूर्व कालमें उन मुनिश्रेष्ठ अगस्त्यसे यही शाप मुझे प्राप्त हुआ था, जिससे तुम्हारे भाई भीमसेनने छुटकारा दिलाया है
eṣa śāpo mayā prāptaḥ prāk tasmād ṛṣisattamāt | sa bhīmena mahārāja kṣātrā tava vimokṣitaḥ, mahārāja yudhiṣṭhira |
महाराज युधिष्ठिर! पूर्वी त्या ऋषिसत्तमाकडून मला हाच शाप प्राप्त झाला होता; हे राजन्, तुझ्या भाऊ भीमसेनाच्या क्षात्र-पराक्रमाने तो आता दूर झाला आहे.
धनेश्वर उवाच
Past actions and the words of sages can bind one through a śāpa (curse), yet release may come through rightful effort and dharmic strength; here, Bhīma’s kṣatriya prowess becomes the instrument of liberation, showing that power aligned with duty can undo affliction.
Dhaneshvara explains to King Yudhiṣṭhira that he had earlier been cursed by a great sage (understood as Agastya), and that this very curse has now been removed through Yudhiṣṭhira’s brother Bhīmasena.
