Kubera’s Fivefold Nīti and Protection of the Pāṇḍavas (वैश्रवणोपदेशः)
श्रूयते बहुधा भीम सर्वभूतमनोहर: । महागज्जामुदीक्षस्व पुण्यां देवनदीं शुभाम्
śrūyate bahudhā bhīma sarvabhūtamanoharaḥ | mahāgajjāmudīkṣasva puṇyāṃ devanadīṃ śubhām ||
वैशंपायन म्हणाले—हे भीमा! ही नदी सर्व प्राण्यांचे मन मोहून टाकणारी आहे—असा तिचा यश अनेक प्रकारे ऐकू येतो. पाहा ही शुभ, पुण्यमयी देव-नदी—जी महागजराजासारखी गर्जत वाहते.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights reverence for sacred places: a holy river is praised as universally pleasing and spiritually meritorious, encouraging attentive, respectful contemplation of what tradition celebrates as auspicious.
Vaiśampāyana addresses Bhīma and draws his attention to a renowned divine river, describing it as holy and auspicious and urging him to look upon it.
