Arrogance, Boons, and Nimitta
इन्द्र उवाच अमार्ग एष विदप्रर्षे येन त्वं यातुमिच्छसि । कि विघातेन ते विप्र गच्छाधीहि गुरोर्मुखात्,इन्द्र बोले--विप्ररषे! तुम जिस राहसे जाना चाहते हो, वह अध्ययनका मार्ग नहीं है। स्वाध्यायके समुचित मार्गको नष्ट करनेसे तुम्हें क्या लाभ होगा? अतः: जाओ गुरुके मुखसे ही अध्ययन करो
indra uvāca: amārga eṣa vidaprarṣe yena tvaṃ yātum icchasi | kiṃ vighātena te vipra gacchādhīhi guror mukhāt ||
इंद्र म्हणाला—हे विद्वान् ऋषे! तू ज्या मार्गाने जाऊ इच्छितोस तो अध्ययनाचा योग्य मार्ग नाही. हे विप्र! स्वाध्यायाची योग्य परंपरा मोडून तुला काय लाभ होईल? जा—गुरुमुखातूनच वेदाध्ययन कर।
