The colophon reinforces the Mahābhārata’s framing of pilgrimage (tīrthayātrā) as a disciplined, value-oriented journey: sacred travel is presented as a means of purification and moral reorientation, not merely movement through places.
This is the chapter-ending colophon stating that, in Lomāśa’s pilgrimage discourse within the Tīrthayātrā Parva of the Vana Parva, the chapter concerning Agastya’s going to the ocean shore has concluded.
