समुद्रपानम् (Samudra-pānam) — Maitrāvaruṇi Drains the Ocean; Devas Seek a Means to Refill It
क्रोधात् प्रवृद्ध;/ सहसा भास्करस्य नगोत्तम: | वचस्तवानतिक्रामन् विन्ध्य: शैलो न वर्धते,पर्वतोंमें श्रेष्ठ विन्ध्य सूर्यदेवपर क्रोध करके जब सहसा बढ़ने लगा तब आपने ही उसे रोका था। आपकी आज्ञाका उल्लंघन न करते हुए विन्ध्यगिरि आज भी बढ़ नहीं रहा है
krodhāt pravṛddhaḥ sahasā bhāskarasya nagottamaḥ | vacas tavānatikrāman vindhyaḥ śailo na vardhate ||
पर्वतांमध्ये श्रेष्ठ असलेला विन्ध्य सूर्यदेवावर क्रोध करून जेव्हा सहसा वाढू लागला, तेव्हा आपणच त्याला रोखले होते. आपल्या वचनाचे उल्लंघन न करता विन्ध्यशैल आजही वाढत नाही।
