Āraṇyaka-parva, Adhyāya 1 — The Pandavas’ Exit from Gajasāhvaya and the Citizens’ Lament
tad ahaṁ bhrātṛ-sahitaḥ sarvān vijñāpayāmi vaḥ | nānyathā tad dhi kartavyam asmat-snehānukampayā ||

Yudhiṣṭhira, speaking on behalf of himself and his brothers, formally petitions the people he is addressing. He asks them to carry out a specific duty exactly as intended, appealing to their goodwill toward the Pāṇḍavas.
