saṁstuto brāhmaṇair gīrbhis tatra tatra sahasraśaḥ | arcyate madhuparkaś ca vasubhiś ca vasupradaḥ ||
The verse underscores dharma through proper reception of the learned: honoring Brahmins with respectful speech, ritual hospitality (madhuparka), and appropriate gifts, while praising generosity as a royal virtue.
Vaiśampāyana describes a figure being widely acclaimed by Brahmins and ceremonially honored in many places, receiving madhuparka and wealth-offerings, while also being characterized as one who gives wealth generously.
